Cafe Review: Dopa by Devon

I'm sure many of you are already familiar with Devon Cafe but have you heard the latest buzz on Dopa by Devon? The team behind Devon Cafe has done it again and created an original menu that consists of donburi bowls inspired by Japan.

Craving a Donburi bowl? No problem, Dopa has got you covered!  Wagyu, chicken, pork and seafood are just some of the options available. A meal is never complete without dessert. You'll find their most insta-worthy strawberry parfait and truffle boba dopa shakes are some of the most ordered dessert items on their menu.

Highlight of the night was the pork katsu don! This came with a little side of dipping sauce and was delicious to eat. I loved the addition of the crispy seaweed that accompanied this dish. You also have the option to upgrade to a set menu if you're feeling hungry. Overall a good quality and satisfying meal.

Winter is definitely truffle season and Dopa has created their own twist with this ingredient by adding it into their drinks. Does it work well though? The concept of adding pearls and truffles into a shake is innovative but I found the combination of these flavours to be strange and didn't appeal to me. Brownie points for trying something new though. Also, beware of the paper straws! It became a battle to see whether I could finish the shake before the straw became soggy.

TO ORDER

Head to the cash register at the front and order. In exchange, you'll receive a hand held buzzer. Staff don't bring your food to you, instead they have a system in place to collect your meal. Drinks are collected at the front first while food is collected at the counter in front of the cutlery station.
