Canton Canton is your entry to Chinese cuisine. The lavish decorations will open your eye to a whole new world that's reminiscent of a different era. To boot, food is exceptional with some interesting twists to some of your favourite Cantonese foods. Currently, it occupies the area that previously belonged to Tim Ho Wan just across Event Cinemas on George Street.

The Birdcage |
Presented beautifully inside a birdcage, this is their signature combination platter that consist of 9 dim sums. With almost a little bit of everything, the shui mai, har gao and the phoenix eyes are a great option to order to enjoy some variety. Soy sauce and a spicy salsa sauce accompany this dish. I was initially most keen for the Phoenix Eyes but preferred the Shui Mai and Har Gao.

Signature Baked BBQ Pork Buns |
Forget your standard BBQ pork buns from yum cha and say hello to the Signature Baked BBQ Pork Buns. The crunchy exterior with the caramelised pork centre are a match made in heaven and I can see why these are a popular menu item. Superior to any pork bun that I've tried, I would definitely go back and order these again.

Chicken & Mushroom Congee |
Congee is one of the best go to Chinese comfort foods that have been invented. After eating bad foods for a whole week, the Chicken & Mushroom Congee was completely necessary. Contrary to what I thought, there's actually a good amount of chicken and mushroom in it. It also didn't seem to be loaded with MSG which was great.

Chilled Mango Puree |
To end the meal, I ordered the Chilled Mango Puree. I made the mistake thinking this would have a similar taste and consistency to a mango pudding. It doesn't! I would recommend getting dessert elsewhere or ordering something different. At $9.80, I don't think this lived up to its price tag due to the size and it just wasn't anything special.
