Son of a Baker Review

Son of a Baker or SOB for short is here to bring you satisfaction. This cafe has clearly perfected their brunch menu with their instaworthy food creations that'll make everyone around you green with envy. Each item on the menu is trendy and could be considered a star of its own.

Starting off, let's appreciate the beauty of this Lobster Tail Benedict. A one of a kind in terms of appearance and taste. I'm normally not a huge fan of eggs benedict mainly because of the hollandaise sauce, but this I would definitely go back for more. I have officially converted to an egg benedict loving person now!

If you are wanting something a little special for brunch, Son of a Baker is the way to go. This would be fit for a queen because who doesn't want to be fancy and have black caviar for breakfast. An unrivalled dish with a luxurious element that is well worth its price tag because you're going to be very full after eating this. Say hello to that food baby. Bad news is it's time to say goodbye because this is a limited item from their menu.

Next up is the Mushroom Bruschetta. It's quite unusual to see this on the menu since tomato or avocado bruschettas are the norm. Wasn't quite sure what to expect but the pesto sauce in this made the mushrooms burst with flavour. Not at all what I'd assumed it to be but still delicious. I think I prefer this over the Lobster Tail Benedict, but this is coming from a mushroom fan so I may be a little bias.

A spin off of their signature Red Velvet Pancakes comes their Butterfly Pancake. Consisting of butterfly pea, mascarpone, macadamia crumble, chocolate dust, vanilla ice cream, fresh berries along with berry compote as the sauce. First impressions can be deceiving. When the waiter brought out the dessert, I thought it was a too small but it turned out to be the ideal size to dig into. Wasn't overly sweet too, which was a nice change. Look at how beautifully it has been plated, a 10/10 for sure!

This has got to be one of the best cafes that I've enjoyed visiting. Food and visuals are top notch. If it wasn't so far away from me, I'd definitely be a regular customer. Conveniently located right next to the beach, why not head on over afterwards. Take a nice stroll and enjoy the sunshine!
