The Brothers Cafe Review

Soufflé and boba pancakes have been popping up everywhere lately on social media and The Brothers Cafe have also created their very own version. Tucked away near UTS Insearch, is where this little cafe can be found.

Known for their signature soufflé pancakes, the wait time can be up to an hour. Flavours vary from tiramisu to matcha and of course boba thai tea sauce. While you're there, do check out the rest of their menu since they have lots of yummy options available for everyone!

The portion sizes are quite large here and what I assumed to be a light salad turned out to be very fulfilling. In fact, a bit too fulfilling. My salad came with a generous serving of chicken with a decent amount of sauce that thankfully did not drown everything. Normally, I'm never full with salads but this was so big I couldn't finish it. They say you should eat till you’re about 80% full and stop but not when pancakes are on the line!

Ever since my trip to Japan, I've been looking high and low for similar pancakes to The Gram which I had in Japan (They are finally coming to Sydney this summer!). Those were simply divine, words cannot express how great they were. So, the search still continues to find the best wobbly pancakes in Sydney.

I had really high expectations for these pancakes because who can say no to soufflé' pancakes and Thai tea sauce right? It already sounds like an amazing combo.

Sadly, I was left feeling slightly disappointed. Perhaps it was just our batch that wasn't fluffy as it was busy when we went but it definitely didn't come close to replicating the texture from The Gram. These were a lot more dense. However, I thought the sauce had a strong milk tea flavour that paired nicely with the dollop of ice cream that was provided.

For the pancake lovers and foodies out there, if you're in the Chinatown area I'd still recommend The Brothers Cafe as they are decently priced and have great portion sizes that will ensure you leave with a full stomach! Check this place out and decide for yourself whether you love it or hate it.
