Rewind to Vivid 2019

It was that time of year again when illuminations lit up the city. Everywhere you looked it would be endless crowds. Going to Vivid with my friends is a tradition that has started from my uni days so this year I went again. Not once, but twice! It was a major improvement from last year and maybe it was my imagination but there seemed to be more artworks this time round.

One of my favourites was the Pixar animation that was in celebration of their 30 years. This was actually the first stop we went to and a great way to start off vivid because who doesn't love cartoons. There was Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc etc.. I could go on but I think you get the point. The firefly field was also incredible!  It just seemed so magical and reminded me of summer nights even though it's actually winter here in Australia. Luckily it was a warm night and very sunny during the day so all was well. Also managed to catch the fireworks in Darling Harbour that night, which was the perfect way to end the night after a long day of walking.

If you aren't from Sydney, I hope you do come and see it for yourself if you are here. Vivid always starts from the end of May till mid June. Each year the illuminations and sculptures change so it's a great way to spend your evenings. Do let me know your thoughts if you've been this year!

Note: Since today is the last day of June, I decided it was finally time to put my pictures that I've taken from Vivid into good use. I know Vivid has ended and I'm about two weeks late on this, but that's okay, better late than never right?
